What is openJAMMA ?
openJAMMA is an open source JAMMA board that is aimed at people building their own arcade machines. If you’re a regular reader of websites like arcadecontrols.com or arcadeotaku then this is the product for you.

This is subject to change, but we know that it needs to be affordable, and competitive with the existing XXX in 1 boards.

Whats the difference between this and the standard Chinese copycat XXX in 1 board?
We’re making this open source. Instead of a hacked crappy binary that you can’t change, and limited to no chance of upgrading the software emulator onboard, this is intended from the outset to be hackable.
Don’t like the emulators provided? Compile your own! Think our UI is crap? No problem, the source is readily available, for you, us, your leet hacker friends to improve things. We’re geeks too, and we like tinkering around.
Don’t like futzing around? No problem, the boards will come ready to rumble. Due to the dubious legal area that rom’s lie in, you’ll need to provide your own legitimately acquired games on SD, but other than that its plug and play!
Who are we?
In best James Bond villain voice “I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.”, bwahahaha…
Seriously though, we’re a bunch of geeks living in Shanghai, China that happen to like arcade games, and have the tech know-how to get this going!
Made in China?
Yup, this will be made in China, and we’re proud of it too!. Made in China doesn’t have to mean bad quality. There are many things made well here in the peoples republic, and this will be a nice product that will be designed by arcade geeks for arcade geeks.
Whats the ETA on this thing?
We’re aiming for a mid-year rollout for the first boards, so shipping should be available from about August 2013 if all goes well.
